Nebraska Football will be in a battle come Wednesday

A Nebraska football recruit is making his decision on Wednesday. 2021 four-star athlete Tommi Hill will be making his college choice. Currently, the 247Sports Crystal Ball tilts Arizona State in his favor.

I still think Nebraska has a chance for Hill. Even though Arizona State may be the leader in his recruitment, there are a couple factors that make me think the Huskers at least have a shot to land him.

More from Husker Corner

For one, Travis Fisher is his primary recruiter for Nebraska. Fisher has been on a roll the past couple of weeks, and that is a theme shared within the program as well. The program itself has been on fire in terms of recruiting the past couple of days alone.

Right now, it seems like everything they touch turns to gold. Fisher is a huge reason why. You have heard me reference several times about his success in the state of Florida.

He has proven to be one of the strongest recruiters on the Nebraska football coaching staff. I don’t expect that will change anytime soon. It seems like he has the magic touch when it comes to prospects and recruiting. This is something that Nebraska should use to their strength going forward.

With so much uncertainty in terms of his recruitment, there are some things I am certain about. Perhaps the biggest thing is that Nebraska and Arizona State are the two teams with the best chance of landing him. At that point, it’s a coin flip.

Will I be shocked if he goes to Arizona State? No I will not. They have done very good recruiting in their own right. I will be surprised if he goes to any other team besides Arizona State or Nebraska.

In any event, I feel good about where Nebraska stands for Hill. With the recent momentum that they have had, I feel compelled to give them the benefit of the doubt. That may not have been the case  a month ago. Nevertheless, as the weather has heated up, so have Nebraska’s chances with several of the top prospects in the country.

If they land Hill, it would just  be another notch in the belt for a very talented 2021 recruiting class. If they don’t land Hill, at least the Huskers were in the discussion.

Next. Thoughts on 2021 recruiting class. dark

At this point, Nebraska’s name is starting to come up with recruits more often. That in itself is a victory., as Scott Frost and his staff look to return the program back to glory.
