Nebraska Football: Addition of Webb Jr. gives Huskers strong corner
Nebraska football picked up a major commitment earlier in the week.
As many of you already know, 2021 cornerback Ladarius Webb Jr. committed to the program earlier this week.
Webb is not ranked in the 247Sports Composite or 247Sports regular rankings. He only had two offers on the table, as Nebraska football and Southern Mississippi both extended offers his way. He is the father of the former Baltimore Ravens cornerback Ladarius Webb.

This seems to me like Nebraska was able to land a commitment for a prospect whose profile is going to blow up soon. When I watch his film, web is a quarter that is athletic and can hit hard. He measures in at five-foot-10, 170 pounds.
In terms of what he would be able to bring to Nebraska he would serve best as a slot corner. His size definitely would not make him the best outside corner. However, I could see him matching up well against some slot receivers. His quickness and ability to make a clean tackle is exactly what Nebraska would need at the position.
With some of the freshman wide receivers coming in just this year alone, the Nebraska secondary is going to face some big-time playmakers. They need corners that can not only keep up with those receivers, but that can make an impact. Web can certainly do that.
As it stands right now, the 2021 Nebraska recruiting class is looking nice. They are ranked 41st nationally and 10th overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports team rankings. They have 12 commitments in the class overall. For reference’s sake, their previous class was ranked 20th overall. In terms of the 247Sports average rating, the rating for this current class is a 0.8740. Last year, the class was rated 0.8838. In my opinion, Nebraska football is right where they need to be in terms of average.
I’ll be interested to see who else they can land for the 2021 class. There is no doubt that the class itself has a solid base. Now, the program just needs to keep adding to it. This class is already strong, and the addition of Webb will give the Huskers some versatility and speed at a position that desperately needs it in today’s game.
\So far, Nebraska football has been on fire this summer in terms of recruiting. Hopefully, they keep up the good momentum and set a precedent for classes moving forward.
