Another linebacker is in the fold for Nebraska Football .

Nebraska football continues to go after linebackers in the 2021 class, and Thursday, they landed another big commitment. 2021 three-star linebacker Will Schwitzer  to committed to the program.

An outside linebacker, he is the 35th overall linebacker in his class and the 48th overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition, he had offers from Colorado, San Diego State, TCU, Utah, Virginia

According to his 247Sports scouting report, his pro comparison is Vince Biegel of the Los Angeles Chargers.

He was an absolute monster for Los Gatos last season. He recorded 130 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions. Those numbers were a significant increase from the year before. He recorded 88 tackles in 2018, and four sacks. In addition, he recovered a fumble.

This gives the Nebraska 2021 class another linebacker in the fold. When I watch his highlights, he is an excellent coverage linebacker. Measuring in at six-foot-four, 210 pounds, he is an opposing figure for the quarterback to throw the ball towards. In some respects, he plays like a safety. He is aggressive as soon as the ball reaches its target and is able to track the target down and make the tackle. He will fit great in the Nebraska football defense

Currently, the 2021 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 33rd overall nationally, and ninth in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings. Over the past couple of weeks, this class has seen a bunch of commitments. Linebacker is certainly the name of the game in this class and I can’t complain. They are bringing in a ton of talent at the position, and this is certainly going to give the defense a ton to work with.

Erik Chinander was the primary recruiter for Schwitzer.

This is a great pick up for a Nebraska football program that is continuing to load up on defense. Schwitzer is versatile, he can play multiple positions, and he is athletic. These are the types of linebackers that the program needs to recruit moving forward. The rest of the Big Ten has a ton of them. Nebraska would certainly be wise to get as many as possible.

Defense as a whole was an issue last year. Now, Nebraska football seems to be trying to rectify that. Hopefully, this will lead to more wins not-so-distant future. They certainly have the talent to get it done.
