The Nebraska football lineman is continuing to get better.

Teddy Prozchaka has been working hard,. At least that’s the impression I get from his latest comments. According to a report from Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star, the lineman has been at the gym perfecting the details.

He has been working with former Nebraska lineman Matt Vrzal. A four-star recruit, Prozchaka definitely has things working in his favor. His six-foot-nine frame will undoubtedly help the Nebraska football offense moving forward.

More from Husker Corner

For those who do not remember Vrzal, he was a walk-on who elected to read shared his first season. He made perhaps his biggest impact as a junior in 1995.

Vrzal played in 12 games, and was part of a line that anchored the Nebraska rushing attack. Nebraska football ran for 399.8 yards per game that year. The solid line combined with a loaded offense allowed Nebraska to be the top scoring team in the country. Tallying 52.4 points per game, that helped contribute to an offense that ranked second in the country with 556.3 yards per game. In addition, the line for the program did not give up a sack.

The 1995 Husker line was certainly high-pedigree. . I love the fact that Prozchaka is working with a player who used to be on the teams of Nebraska football’s past. Vrzal knows what it takes to get it done and he knows the type of toughness it takes to last in competitive football. Maybe, the Husker teams of today can get back to the teams of the 90s.

One thing at a time.

Prozchaka figures to be a huge part of the Nebraska football line moving forward. I would definitely consider him an anchor of the line for the future. His size makes him a very capable run and pass-blocker, and I definitely expect him to be a starter in no time. Nebraska football has desperately needed help on the line, and his commitment to the program was big for that reason.

Right now, he is working on the details. It sounds like things are going well.

"“At the start, when I first started working with (Vrzal) it was broad-based and just trying to get the basics down,” Prochazka told the Journal Star recently. “Now that I’m starting to really get a hold on things, it’s fine-tuning the little minute details, so it’s perfect.”"

From what I understand, all the Nebraska athletes have been working hard over the course of what has been a strange offseason. Hopefully, they can connect the dots once camp begins. With the type of schedule Nebraska football has, they certainly need to be ready to go from the beginning.

This team certainly seems focused and ready to go. I know I am. Hopefully, all of their efforts during this offseason will be parlayed into a successful 2020.
