Running back has been a strength for Nebraska football over the years.

Nebraska football has had some very strong running backs in this century so far. If one thing has been consistent about the program, it has been their running game. Several Nebraska football players are in the National Football League, and now they are continuing on the legacy of Nebraska Football.

When you take a look at how the Nebraska football offense has been run over the years, it’s no surprise that some of the running backs have very good numbers. There was a time when Nebraska was dedicated to the run. Nowadays, their offense is more opened up, something that fits the style of Big Ten play. This list was hard to make, as Nebraska football had a ton of talent at the position. Hopefully, they can continue to recruit and develop solid running backs.

I give my list of the five best Nebraska football running backs of the 2000s.
