The Nebraska football wide receiver is having a great Monday

What a week it has been for Nebraska football Omar Manning. The wide receiver has definitely had a great week personally, and he is set up for what should be a successful time in Lincoln.

First, he is slated to be in Lincoln in June. A Nebraska spokesperson basically said that as long as his grades are good, he should be on his way in no time. That also ties in to the other part of why he has had a great week.

Monday night, he posted on his Twitter account that he was the first individual from his family to go to college. That is certainly an achievement in itself. I too was the first of my immediate family to go to college. It is certainly a major accomplishment, and should not be overlooked.

Now, he will enter a Nebraska football program that is looking to have tremendous success in 2020. He should be the focal point of the offense sooner rather than later. You have heard me talk about future weapons at wide receiver for Nebraska. He is certainly in that conversation. A highly-regarded receiver, he should be able to assimilate to the Nebraska offense quite nicely.

I’m excited that he is getting to campus this month. It sounds like he won’t miss too many of the workouts, and he should be able to catch on quickly, pun intended.  I truly think he’ll be able to do great things with new wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator Matt Lubick. Lubick is known for getting the most out of his wide receivers and running a high-tempo offense. Manning would certainly fit nicely into that part of the equation.

Overall, it’s been a great week of news for the wideout. Hopefully, the positive news will continue in just a short while. He is the type of weapon the Nebraska football program has needed for quite some time. He has all the tools to be not only a premier receiver in college football, but at the next level.

Manning going to the National Football League would be great for not only the program but himself. That would just add to the successes he’s compiled already, and be another notch in the proverbial belt for all involved.

Next. Predicting the tight end depth chart for 2020. dark

I always love hearing about players succeeding, and Manning is certainly no exception to this. I can’t wait to see what he will accomplish both on and off the field in just a short while.
