Nebraska football is in good shape with an athlete from California.

Nebraska football continues to make top lists for some of the biggest prospects in the 2021 class, and Monday was no exception. They made the final seven  for 2021 four-star athlete Yulkeith Brown.

Brown is the 22nd overall athlete in his class, and the 46th overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. In addition to Nebraska football, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Penn State, and Texas A&M were also a part of his list. Most recently, he was offered by Michigan state on March 31st.

Currently playing for Gulliver Prep, Brown is certainly an outstanding athlete. As soon as the quarterback throws the ball his way, he breaks from his defender off the line and uses his speed to make the catch. He also has tremendous vision and athleticism. He is the prototypical Nebraska receiver in the sense that he is a player that can run routes well, and uses speed to make big plays happen. Measuring in at five-foot-10, 174 pounds, he certainly is a smaller receiver. However, that certainly does not diminish his skills.

Currently, the 2021 class has been soaring for Nebraska. The class is currently ranked 40th overall and 11th in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings. They have gotten a slew of commitments just this month, and that certainly bodes well for the future. This class started off slow in terms of commitments, but it’s picking back up again.

Nebraska has made it a point to get an influx of youth at the receiver position. That is certainly a smart move on their part. There certainly is not a lot of depth at the position right now, but they should be set for the future.

I’m optimistic about Brown coming to the Nebraska football program. They could definitely use his talent and athleticism. Hopefully, he will release a smaller list soon.  In any event, the fact that Nebraska football is making these lists more frequently when it comes to prospect decisions is a great sign. Hopefully, their momentum continues upwards in recruiting.
