I wish the former Nebraska Football quarterback nothing but the best.

By now, you probably have all heard the news that former Nebraska football quarterback Noah Vedral is transferring to Rutgers. The move was announced on Wednesday, as Vedral looks to start a new chapter in his college football career.

Circulating the twitter realm this morning, I personally found a bunch of tweets that had Nebraska fans worrying about whether Vedral would beat the Huskers when they ( hopefully) face off on October 24 against Rutgers.

More from Husker Corner

So what if he does? Things that were not going to work out for him at Nebraska. Nebraska football already has a large quarterback room, and they have been  recruiting the position heavily. There was going to be no room for him at the end of the day. I don’t blame him for wanting to transfer, and continuing his college football career. I would have honestly been a little worried if he didn’t.

If he wins the starting job at Rutgers and beats Nebraska, that’s not an indictment on Scott Frost. There have been a couple of situations where Scott Frost holdovers from the first year of his tenure have elected to transfer.

Frost needed a base of players to come to Nebraska just to get his foot in the door. He needed a collection of initial recruits and transfers just to build the base of the program. Vedral was one of those players.

Now, Frost is getting his feet wet in the Big Ten. He has built a foundation for the program over the last two seasons. He has really in earnest begun recruiting. Now, he no longer needs that base. That is not a bad thing. That’s just the way college football works. From what I can tell, Frost has no ill will towards Vedral,

I hope he is able to succeed at Rutgers just from a personal perspective. I am never rooting for a player to fail. He obviously thought that Rutgers was a better fit for him. That’s not an indictment on anybody, nor should it be used against Frost or the signal-caller. Things just did not work out.

If he beats Nebraska when these two teams meet, I’ll be happy for him. I’ll be glad that he found a place where he felt comfortable enough to succeed.

Next. Three bold predictions for 2020 season. dark

At the end of the day, college football is very cutthroat. Success in any way shape or form is great to see. Hopefully there’ll be some success in Lincoln very soon.
