Nebraska football made the top six of a Georgia recruit on Monday.

Nebraska football is continuing to recruit hard in the state of Georgia. Monday, the program made the Top Six for wide receiver Chauncey Magwood . Magwood is the 74th overall wide receiver in his class, and the 37th overall player from the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is a member of the class of 2021.

The three-star recruit has offers from several big-time programs. Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, South Carolina, Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, and Tennessee have all extended offers his way.

What could Magwood bring to the program? When I watch his highlights, I see a receiver who is very shifty and explosive. As soon as the ball is snapped, he uses his speed to get by his man. He is not the tallest receiver, measuring at exactly 6 feet. However, it is his quickness and his excellent route running that make him such a dangerous player. He could definitely be a key piece for Nebraska football. I definitely would love to see him hit the weight room once he came to Lincoln.

He is a slender 187 pounds. If he could bulk up just a little bit, that would be beneficial for him.

Currently, the 2021  Nebraska football recruiting class has shaped up nicely. They are focusing on defense quite a bit in this particular class. However, they have looked to find ways to improve their offense. A commitment from Magwood would certainly help out with this.

Currently, the 2021 Nebraska football class ranks 30th nationally and ninth overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings. Personally, I find those rankings a little bit deceptive. Nebraska has found some impact players for this class. They are still very much in the stages of building it, so I expect that ranking to improve down the road. However, I like what I see from the commitments so far.

Nebraska has struck gold with the receivers that they have recruited so far. If Magwood came to Nebraska, I could certainly see him fitting in.

I like what Nebraska football is doing in terms of recruiting. They are not resting on their laurels, happy with prior classes. They are continuing to try and hunt for impact playmakers. That’s what the program needs to do, and that’s what the program has lacked over the past couple of years.
