Nebraska Football extended an offer to a quarterback earlier this week.

Nebraska football continues to place an emphasis on recruiting quarterbacks for the future, and they have extended a couple of offers to signal-callers this week. One offer in particular that interests me is Justyn Martin. The program extended him an offer earlier this week, and he certainly has a lot of potential.

He is not ranked in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but he is ranked in their overall rankings. He is a four-star recruit, and is the eighth overall pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class. He is also the 25th overall player in his class from the state of California per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Right now, Martyn has a lot of offers from teams out west. In addition to Nebraska, Arizona State, Colorado Oregon State, San Jose State, and USC have all extended offers his way.

What could he bring to Nebraska? When I watched some of his highlights, it was clear that he brought a little bit of everything. In particular, I was most impressed by what he was able to do while standing in the pocket. He was very decisive with his reads. He read the play, and got the ball out to his receiver immediately with no hesitation. This could work well in Nebraska football’s offense. They tend to go up-tempo and quick reads could keep the defense off-balance during a play. That could then translate to them not being prepared when getting to the line.

There are no commitments in the 2022 recruiting class for Nebraska football. Landing a player like Martyn would be an awesome get for a team that is beginning to pride itself on recruiting quarterbacks. Mario Verduzco seems to have worked his magic on the recruiting trail in that department. Over the last couple of recruiting cycles, he has really landed impact quarterbacks, and even landed impact players not at the quarterback position.

It will be interesting to see what quarterbacks Nebraska will land. To me, it’s not a question of will they land a quarterback? It’s more of a question of who.

Next. Three former Huskers I'd have dinner with. dark

With the amount of offers they have been sending out to recruit for the position, Nebraska football is no doubt trying to find their quarterback of the future. Hopefully, they can continue to land talented quarterbacks. As far as I’m concerned, they should keep aiming high. The commitments that they have gotten to this point warrant prospects at least trusting them a little bit when it comes to going to Lincoln.
