Nebraska football could be well represented in the Draft.

As many of you know, the NFL Draft is approaching. There are a couple Huskers who could find NFL homes at the end of the month. According to a recent mock draft put together by CBSSports, two Nebraska football players will join the professional ranks.

Lamar Jackson was selected in the third round with the 81st overall pick by the Raiders, while  Khalil Davis  was selected with the 15th pick in the seventh round, number 229 overall by the Redskins.

These fits make sense for both parties. The Raiders need help in the secondary, and Jackson would be the perfect fit in that regard. Davis would help Washington strengthen their run defense. The Redskins gave up 146.2 rushing yards per game. Daniels would be able to provide size and strength in the run game.

If Jackson was selected by Las Vegas, he would be the highest-selected Nebraska football player since Maliek Collins in 2016.

I’ve said before that I think both of these players would fit very well in today’s National Football League. These days, you need a big man on the line that can serve as both a pass-rusher and run-stopper. As far as the corner position, you need a player that can stop the passing attack. Those players can do both of those things.

It would look good on head coach Scott Frost and his staff if two players who played under their regime were selected in the Draft. It would be awesome to see a pair of Nebraska football players have a big impact at the highest level. This program is going to get better, and having two recent players from the program go to the National Football League would be awesome for everybody going forward.

Next. Program aiming high in productive recruiting week. dark

I will certainly be following closely at the end of the month. In my humble opinion, these two definitely deserve a shot at living out the dream.
