Here is what to know for tonight’s Nebraska basketball game.

Will this be the night that Nebraska basketball wins a game? Maybe, maybe not. Nevertheless, the program is set to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday in what is going to be a tough contest.

In their last game Ohio State edged a tough Maryland team by a 79-72 margin. This was a balanced effort for the entire Ohio State team. Luther Muhammed was the top scorer for Ohio State in this one. In 35 minutes of play, he scored 22 points on five-of-11 shooting. He went four-of-eight from beyond the arc and recorded five rebounds in addition to two assists.

Duane Washington Jr. was the leading scorer off the bench for the Buckeyes. In 27 minutes of play, he scored 13 points on three-of-eight shooting. This was a balanced effort for an Ohio State team that seems to be getting hot at exactly the right time.

In the meantime, Nebraska basketball seems to be going in the exact opposite direction. They faced Illinois on Tuesday, and were defeated once again. The team had a balanced game, with for starters scoring in double figures. Nevertheless, it was not enough to take down a surging Illinois team that is playing extremely good basketball.

It is going to be a tough one for Nebraska basketball on Thursday. According to the latest Kenpom rankings Ohio State is ranked 10th, while Nebraska is ranked number 131. It is going to be another tough game for this team, and truthfully it will be difficult to expect a win here.

Key to the Game

The key to the game for Nebraska in this one is to rotate back on defense. Ohio State is a very deep team who has a ton of talent and scorers. One of the things I’m going to look for on Thursday is if Nebraska will be able to contain Ohio State’s top scorers. If they can do that, it will be a successful evening for a program in desperate need of a win.
