This would be a great get for Nebraska basketball.

Nebraska basketball is still working hard recruiting, and they are in the running for an interesting international player. Adama Sanogo is a junior at the Patrick School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He came to the United States via the Basketball without Borders program. Now, he is gaining interest from several teams.

In addition to Nebraska, five other schools are prioritizing him as well. In total, he has more than 50 offers on the table, according to a report from Evan Daniels.

Hailing from Mali, he is already a highly-touted prospect. He is the 50th overall international player in the 2021  class, the seventh overall center, and the third overall player from Mali per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He holds a four-star distinction. The center measures in at 6-foot-9, 250 pounds.

In watching some of his highlights, I was very impressed by what I saw. He had a soft touch around the rim and he also could make post shots with regularity. Nebraska basketball as a team has had trouble making shots. They seem like they either shoot the ball too hard or leave a shot just short.

Yvan Ouedraogo is the top big man on the team, and he is certainly developing into a solid player. However, Sanogo could definitely help Nebraska down the road.

I like how Nebraska is taking a shot at international players. There is certainly a lot of talent to be had overseas. It never hurts to see what type of talent you can get from outside the United States. Sanogo would definitely be another impact player and I hope he would  at least consider the Nebraska basketball program. Like I mentioned before, he already has a very impressive offer sheet. Something tells me that the offer sheet will continue to grow as time goes on.

At the very least, Nebraska is in the mix for a player with tremendous talent. I’ll be interested to see how they fare over the course of this recruitment. If anything, this shows me that players are interested in coming to Lincoln.
