Nebraska football is extending an offer to a talent running back.

Nebraska football continues to offer running backs with speed. Earlier this week, they offered ($) 2021 running back David Holloman.

Holloman is a three-star player. He is ranked at the 90th overall running back in the 2021 class and the 39th overall player in the state of Michigan per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has several offers from different schools across the country. In addition to Nebraska, Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, and Central Michigan have sent offers his way.

He runs a 4.39 40-yard dash. That number was recorded at The Opening regional event last May.

What could he bring to Nebraska football?  When you look at his highlights, he can bring a little bit of everything. He is a shifty runner who can make the first initial tackler miss. Once that happens, he uses that tremendous speed to gain extra yardage. He also plays big for his size. Measuring in at around 5-foot-10, 189 pounds, he is certainly a smaller back. However, he plays physically. I almost equate them to a Dedrick Mills-type of play style.

Physical running backs worked well for Nebraska football last year. We have seen what they have done with Mills so far, and I would suspect that would continue moving forward. Nebraska’s physical running style certainly complements their passing game well. Holloman would fill the role that Mills plays right now once the latter graduates. He would be the perfect replacement for the running back.

I would say that Nebraska has a good shot at landing him. We are obviously still early in the recruiting process. However, Nebraska is certainly making waves on the recruiting trail as they have been since Frost got here. Landing Holloman would be the perfect way to replace Mills and keep the pipeline of talented running backs going. Running back does not seem to be a position that Nebraska has struggled to recruit.
