A Nebraska football rookie wants to make an impact.

As the 2020 Nebraska football class arrives to campus, they all seem ready to play. Tamon Lynum is no exception to that. The cornerback from Orlando, Florida has high expectations heading into next year.

As a recruit, Lynum was a three-star recruit, and the 203rd overall player from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

In addition to Nebraska, he had offers from several smaller schools. East Carolina, Kansas, Bryant, and Coastal Carolina all extended offers his way. He is undoubtedly part of the impressive group that secondary coach Travis Fisher managed to land from Florida. Given how the Nebraska football secondary was filled with veterans last season, Lyman will get a chance to play sometime in the near future. He is in a position where he won’t have to wait until his second or third year to play.

As he spoke to Brian Christopherson of 247Sports this week, you could sense that he has a plan and a goal. It’s something I have heard from all of the incoming recruits. That is certainly encouraging to say the least. They want to make sure they come to Lincoln to accomplish something. I certainly admire their high aspirations. Lynum wants to make it up to Nebraska fans after a dismal year last year.

"“I’m loving it. I love the fans. I love the energy, I love the team, I love everything,” he said. “To the fans, I know y’all got high expectations, but we’re coming this year. We ain’t going to let y’all down this year.”"

The fact that he loves the fans is awesome. That means that we are doing our job. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard a recruit say that they have loved Nebraska fans. The gameday experience is unlike any other. Hopefully, that will lead to more wins in 2020.

For now, Lynum is just one of the many players I’m excited about. Hopefully he will be able to fit in nicely for Nebraska football.
