Nebraska Football is in the thick of recruiting for a stud tight end.

Nebraska is focused on recruiting the tight end position. Look no further than their recent offers for evidence. The coaching staff was on the road this week according to a report from Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star. While there, the coaching staff offered 2021 tight end Michael Trigg.

Trigg, who hails from Seftner Christian Academy, is not ranked at this time. However, my guess is that he will be soon. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida,  and Florida State. He will definitely be ranked soon, as he has a tremendous amount of talent.

Trigg measures at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds. Most recently, he received an offer from Auburn on January 19. He received offers from Florida State and Tennessee on January 16 as well. His stock is definitely on the rise as he continues to go through this recruiting process.

He would be a tremendous asset for the Nebraska football passing attack. He has tremendous hands, and is a red zone threat. He can get an upper hand on the defender with ease. He does a nice job of creating space for himself, and looking in  the ball and to make the catch. He would be an instant producer at the tight end position and would certainly be able to provide more production than the program is currently getting.

Currently, the Nebraska football 2021 recruiting class ranks 14th nationally and fourth overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team Rankings. They already have a great 2021 class, and Trigg would certainly add to that. The program is doing a nice job of gaining momentum in this class, and I give them a lot of credit. They are shooting for big prospects who could make an impact right away. I would rather them aim high, then settle for the below-average prospects that will not help the team in the long run.

I’ll be interested to see how they continue to build this recruiting class. If they keep extending offers to players with Trigg’s caliber, this class could end up looking extremely nice. They have shown that they can build a solid recruiting class, as 2020 looks promising. Now, they are continuing to make a statement for the future. They want talent, and they will make sure to put themselves in the middle of major recruiting battles. I give them a ton of credit for being bold with their recruiting strategy.
