Nebraska football has a special class on their hands.

Nebraska football is building up a strong 2020 recruiting class, and it is certainly being respected nationally. In the latest recruiting rankings from Rivals.com, Nebraska has six players in the Rivals’ top 250 players in the country.

Coming in with the highest-ranking is wide receiver Zavier Betts. He is ranked at the No. 59 spot. Turner Corcoran comes in at the 64th spot, well quarterback Logan Smothers checks in at No.  171. Keyshawn Greene is the number 202 player on the list while Sevion Morrison is slotted in at No. 232. Rounding out the list, safety Henry Gray checks in at No.  234.

This is a reflection of how well Nebraska football did. That right there tells me there is talent in the 2020 class. I really don’t put a ton of stock into these lists, but when six Nebraska players are on it, that is certainly something to notice. Obviously, we want to wait and see how they do on the field before we can accurately make any predictions. However, this is a good start.

Overall, the 2020 recruiting class is very impressive for Nebraska. They did a nice job of mixing talent with skill and getting players to fill the gaps left on the team. Particularly defensively, they did a nice job of making sure they addressed their needs in the secondary as well as getting help on the defensive line.  Initially, I wasn’t really too sure what to expect for this 2020 class. It started off slowly, but it picked up steam very quickly.

I will be interested to see what the 2021 class ends up looking like in these rankings. If Nebraska football can continue with the momentum that they’ve had in recruiting, we could be looking at a very good class next year. For now, we will probably see some of these players on the field next year. I’m excited to see this class take the field, as it has been a ton of fanfare surrounding their commitments. There are a lot of talent the players in this class, and they should be able to make an impact in Lincoln as soon as they step on the field.
