Nebraska football will host a 2021 wide receiver on Saturday.

Nebraska football continues to recruit for the 2021 class, and a prospect from Iowa will visit on Saturday. 2021 three-star wide receiver Brody Brecht will visit the program per a report from Mike Schaefer of 247Sports. ($)

The Ankeny, Iowa native has several other offers on the table. In addition to Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and William and Mary are among schools have extended enough for his way., The 247 Crystal Ball projects him to go to Iowa.

He does have familiarity with Nebraska. He took an unofficial visit to Lincoln on September 28, and he was offered by the program the next day

He had a breakout season for Akeny  High School last year. He caught 35 passes for 796 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2019 season.

What could bring to Nebraska football? In watching some of his film, it’s fair to say he has a ton of talent. The six-foot-four, 190-pound wide receiver has tremendous leaping ability. He doesn’t have a ton of speed, but he looks like the type of receiver that can go up and get a catch in the red zone. Perhaps the biggest thing for Nebraska is, he’s a tall wide receiver. That certainly counts for something, particularly as Nebraska has gone small at the position over the past couple of years.

Currently, the Nebraska football recruiting class is shaping up nicely for 2021.  They rank 13th nationally and fourth overall in the Big Ten per the 247Sports Team rankings. He is currently being recruited by Erik Chinander.

I’m hoping his visit on Saturday will leave a nice impression. I certainly like the idea of Nebraska stocking up on wideouts. That is a position that can certainly use some depth over the next couple of seasons. Brecht would fit nicely, and he would provide some stability to the receiver room in the coming years. Hopefully, everything goes well during his visit.
