This is a bounce back game for Nebraska Basketball.

Nebraska Basketball is set to take on Texas A&M- Corpus Christi in what should be a rebound game for both teams. A win here would be a nice closeout result heading into a new year.

In their last game, the Islanders  lost a close one to Central Arkansas by a 71-67 margin.  Guard Miles Smith was the star of the show. In 35 minutes of play, he recorded 31 points and seven rebounds.

Smith is the leading scorer for the Islanders. He averages 16.7 points per contest and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Another player Nebraska should watch out for is Jashawn Talton. He has averaged 12.7 points on the season, but only scored two points against Central Arkansas. He is definitely looking to have a bounce-back game

Corpus Christi comes into Sunday’s action with a 4-8 record. Nebraska comes into Sunday’s tilt with a 5-7 mark.

As some of you may recall, Nebraska Basketball lost a close game to North Dakota. Cam Mack had 19 points on seven-of-nine shooting from the field and three-of-five from beyond the arc. Nevertheless, his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for Nebraska.

In the Kenpom rankings, Nebraska Basketball currently sits at 140th in the rankings. They would definitely like to improve on that number.

Key to the Game

The key for Nebraska Basketball on Sunday will be to make their free throws. They went nine-of-16 from the line against North Dakota. That equals out to a 56.3 free-throw conversion percentage. If they want to win this game, they need to take the free points where they can get them. Free throw shooting has been a problem for them all season. Hopefully, their struggles don’t rear their ugly head on Sunday.
