Nebraska Basketball: Jervay Green coming back at right time
This is a good development for Nebraska basketball.
Nebraska Basketball received some good news on Friday. Junior guard Jervay Green will be available to play on Saturday as Nebraska takes on North Dakota.
As some of you may recall, had been suspended for the past two games for a violation of team rules. The suspension itself happened prior to the Indiana game. Green has done everything has been asked of him according to a report from the Journal Star. The lineup will stay the same as it has been over these past couple of games.
Green is rejoining the Nebraska Basketball program at a time when this team is finding its stride. After impressive showings against Indiana and Purdue, they now enter Saturday’s game against North Dakota with a bit of momentum. Hopefully, that will be able to translate to success on the court. I am starting to feel better about this team as the season continues on.
It is interesting that Green will be coming off the bench at least for these next couple of games. He certainly will provide a spark. So far this season, he has averaged 10.3 points per contest and 4.9 rebounds per game. With him coming off the bench in the meantime, that just gives another weapon for this team to use.
I’m happy that Green is coming back at this time specifically. That will give him a couple of games to join the team again before conference play begins. As many of you know, conference play is extremely cutthroat. Hopefully, he has solved his problem with the team and won’t be a distraction moving forward. I am anxious to see what he can do as this team looks to keep the good vibes going.
Nebraska Basketball is certainly building something special, and I’m excited to see where they are headed. There is no doubt that they will need all players to be ready to go, as these next couple of months will be interesting.
