Nebraska Football added a speed threat to the receivers room.

Nebraska Football has landed another major commitment for the wide receiver room. 2020 four-star wide receiver Marcus Fleming has signed with the program.

Fleming is the 42nd wide receiver in his class, and the 43rd overall player in his class from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He was recruited to Nebraska Football by Travis Fisher and Troy Walters.

Fleming also had a ton of other big-time offers on the table. In addition to Nebraska, Florida State, Georgia, and Miami also extended offers his way.

He is not the tallest receiver, but he brings speed. Measuring in at five-foot-nine, 170 pounds he is the type of receiver that has thrived in Nebraska’s system. As I wrote about in November, he is very dangerous after-the-catch. As soon as he hauls in the football, he is off to the races. I can see him functioning in the Nebraska Football offense very well. Especially with multiple mobile quarterbacks coming down the road, the combination of speedy quarterbacks and fast wide receivers is never a bad thing.

I am happy that the 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class continues to grow. Fleming will undoubtedly be a major part of the offense in the coming years. Their success so far on Wednesday has been encouraging. It means that players are buying into Nebraska Football.

Over the past couple of days in particular, Nebraska has done a nice job of trying to address the wide receiver position. It’s not like they are just plugging in the holes with random players. They are bringing in impact recruits and trying to get as many playmakers as possible. Their strategy has worked very well, and I can’t wait to see how that strategy translates to other positions as Early Signing Day continues on.
