This is another great get for Nebraska Football.

The commitments keep coming for Nebraska Football as they landed another one on Tuesday. 2020 three-star defensive end Jordon Riley committed to the program. He announced his decision via Twitter earlier in the day.

Riley is the 72nd overall junior-college player in the class, the 12th overall strong-side defensive end, and the 16th overall player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports Composite JUCO Rankings.

He had one other offer on the table from East Carolina. He took a visit to East Carolina on December 13. That was his last offer before committing to Nebraska. His recruitment is interesting. He originally committed to North Carolina on November 19, 2016. He signed his letter of intent on January 9 and enrolled in the University the same day.

However, he ran into trouble while at Chapel Hill. In his freshman year, he played in five games, recording six tackles on the season. However, he was dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules in April 2018. Hopefully, he will get the fresh start he needs in Lincoln. Nebraska Football will certainly be able to use his skill set.

As a sophomore for Garden City last year, Riley played in nine games. He recorded 21 tackles and two sacks. There is no doubt that he can get after the ball carrier, and that’s exactly what Nebraska has been focusing on in this recruiting cycle. They have made it very clear that they want to get players into the program that can rush the passer. This is something they didn’t do a ton of last year, and now they appear to be compensating for their lack of pass rushers.

Currently, the 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class ranks 19th in the country, and fourth overall in the Big Ten. After stalling a bit, Nebraska has certainly picked up momentum with the 2020 class. We will have to see what they do on Wednesday as the Early Signing Period begins. Right now, things are looking up for Nebraska and their 2020 class. Hopefully, they can get a few more commitments in the fold to seal the deal.

The future is very bright for the Nebraska football program. I think recruits are recognizing this, and we are seeing the results. Nebraska has had a torrid couple of days on the recruiting trail, and they are seeing their efforts pay off in a big way.
