Nebraska Basketball: Teddy Allen is coming home with commitment
This is a huge commitment for Nebraska Basketball.
Nebraska Basketball joined in on what has been a successful couple of recruiting days for Nebraska. Former Gatorade Player of the year Teddy Allen committed to the team on Tuesday.
Allen is a local player. A sophomore at Western Nebraska Community College, he is a scoring machine. He leads the country with 32 points per game and is a marksman from behind the three-point line. He is shooting 54% from the floor and 42% from behind the scholarships remaining for the class. arc. The guard has certainly has had his ups and downs at the collegiate level.
He will fill one of the two scholarship spots that Nebraska Basketball has for the 2020 class. Allen has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
He signed with West Virginia and played there as a true freshman. Following a transfer to Wichita State, he had some off-the-court issues that led to his dismissal from the team a week after the incident. He appeared in 35 games with the Mountaineers, averaging 7.0 points per contest go along with 2.7 rebounds.
I really like this commitment for Nebraska. The team is getting a player who is hungry and wants to prove himself. Not only that, he is a scorer. Although Nebraska Basketball has played better as of late, they have had struggles putting the ball in the basket at times. He is an efficient three-point shooter, and that’s what you need in today’s game of basketball. I also like the fact that he is a local kid. It’s a lot more fun when there are local guys on the team.
With players such as Samari Curtis transferring from the program, it’s nice to have another capable scorer in the fold. Although we won’t see him until next year, Allen could be coming at the right time. This team is starting to gel right now, and they have all the momentum in their favor heading into Saturday’s game against North Dakota. The bottom line is, the future is bright for 2020 and Allen should be able to play a big part in it. I can’t wait to see him come home and play.
