Nebraska Football picked up some accolades on Tuesday,

Nebraska Football was shut out from any of the All-Big Ten teams. However, they were well-represented in the honorable-mention category. Wide receiver JD Spielman, Junior offensive tackle Brendan Jaimes, Junior running back Dedrick Mills, and freshman receiver Wan’Dale Robinson all were able to garner accolades in that category.

Spielman had a great season for Nebraska Football all things considered. After starting off slow, he came on strong in the second half. He caught 49 passes for 898 yards and five touchdowns on the year. His best game came against Illinois. In that contest, he caught seven passes for 160 yards. Averaging 22.9 yards per catch, a 41-yard grab was his longest of the evening. His most recent 100 yard game came against Maryland. He caught seven passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

Jaimes did a great job on the offensive line. He started off the season slowly, but he gradually improved. By the end of the year, he was one of the strongest lineman Nebraska Football had. Heading into his senior year, I’m excited to see what he can do. He should be a key piece in keeping the quarterback up right next year.

Mills was a great story. After transferring from Georgia Tech, we weren’t sure what type of running back we were going to get. Mills ended up having a great year for Nebraska he carried the ball 143 times for 745 yards and 10 touchdowns. Much like the rest of the team, he started off the beginning of the season slowly. However he managed to turn it on at the end of the season. His best game a came against Wisconsin when he rumbled off a 188-yard performance.

Robinson had a tremendous year as a freshman. He was in offensive catalyst for Nebraska and they relied on him heavily. He played both the roles of running back and receiver. He caught 40 passes for 453 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 88 times for 340 yards and three touchdowns.

It’s awesome to see so many Nebraska Football players get recognized for their efforts the season. They certainly were all fun to watch, and I can’t wait to see what they do next year. I feel very confident about the direction of this team moving forward.
