Here is what you need to know for the Nebraska Basketball game

Nebraska Basketball (4-3) is set to take on Georgia Tech (3-2) on the road in what should be a fun contest. Both teams are coming into Tuesday’s game off thrilling victories.

Nebraska Basketball was able to win the final game of the Cayman Island classic by a 74-67 score. Beating South Florida, Hannif Cheatham was the leading scorer for Nebraska. In 37 minutes of play, he scored 26 points. That included going an impressive eight-of-11 from the field and nine-of-11 from the free-throw line. Dachon Burke Jr. also provided additional scoring. Playing 31 minutes, he scored 21 points. He was a sharp eight-of-11 from the field and three-of-five from beyond the arc. In addition, he collected four rebounds and a block on the evening.

In their last game, Georgia Tech won on a buzzer beater. Michael DeVoe was the leading scorer for Georgia Tech. He scored 27 points in the game, including 17 in the second half. The three-point shot to win the contest was just the icing on the cake. He has certainly been a catalyst for them offensively.

The last time these two teams met was in 1991. In that game, Georgia Tech defeated Nebraska by a 45-21 score. Nebraska will be looking to even up the series on Wednesday night.

In the Kenpom rankings, Georgia Tech sits at  No. 72 while Nebraska sits at No. 143. Despite the disparity in rankings, I am interested to see how these two matchup.

Key to the Game

Nebraska needs to be able to shoot the three-point shot with consistency. They are not going to get a ton of opportunities inside, as Georgia Tech has been able to control the paint well. James Banks III is going to control the paint inside for the Yellowjackets. Measuring in at six-foot-10, he is certainly a strong presence inside.

One of the hallmarks of this Nebraska team is shooting from beyond the arc. They are going to need to convert and make the most of their opportunities. This is not going to be an easy game, and I wouldn’t  expect it to be. I will be interested to see how Nebraska Basketball does on Wednesday. They certainly have a lot of talent. They just need to put it all together.
