Nebraska Football had a great day recruiting.

Nebraska Football had a big day of recruiting in the junior college ranks. They were able to land Junior Aho for starters, and then came the commitment of outside linebacker Jamoi Hodge.

Hodge is not ranked in the 247Sports composite JUCO rankings. He is however ranked in the 247Sports rankings. He is the third overall outside linebacker in the class of 2020, and the 12th overall player from the state of North Carolina.

In addition to Nebraska, he also received offers from Arizona and SMU. Currently, he plays at Independence community College. According to a report from the Lincoln Journal Star, he just finished his freshman season, and he would be able to sign with Nebraska in December. He will have four years to play in Lincoln, so this will give the coaching staff plenty of time to develop him further.

In seven games for Independence this season, he recorded 32 tackles.

Measuring in at six-foot-two, 225 pounds, Hodge is the perfect size for a linebacker. In watching some of his film, he is fast and explosive. What impressed me most was his ability to read the play and react to it. Not only that, he is a very solid tackler. That is something of course that Nebraska has had trouble with throughout this entire season. Not only that, Hodge hits solidly. There is no escaping his tackles.

With this commitment, the 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class is shaping up terrifically. I was worried in April that this class did not have enough impact players and it. That has completely changed. Now, the class ranks 28th and sixth overall in the Big Ten. In a crowded conference, that is certainly an impressive number. Hopefully, that number continues to rise.

Nebraska has done a great job of getting impact players for 2020. As we are seeing this season, Nebraska Football needs as many of them as possible. They cannot afford to miss on these next couple of recruiting classes. Getting Hodge in addition to Aho on Tuesday was a great start.
