Good on Nebraska Football for this gesture.

On Monday, Nebraska Football had one final scholarship to handout in order to meet its 85-man roster quota. The final recipient was extremely deserving. Running back Wyatt Mazour was the recipient, and he certainly deserves it after his performance this season.

Given the initial depth at the running back position, he hasn’t really received a ton of opportunities. However, now that some spots have opened up at the position, he is making the most of them. On the season, he has recorded nine rushes for 41 yards in seven games. He also has two catches for 23 yards, and he has proven to be a solid kick returner, receiving three kicks for 58 yards. He has truly done it all for Nebraska Football.

In what has been a down year for the team, he has played well. He has run hard, and ran the ball with physicality. He has truly been a spark for the running game off the bench.

It is great to see him have an impact for this team in his final season of play. I always love seeing local kids succeed for Nebraska Football. Hopefully, we’ll see more success stories in the future. With the way Scott Frost and his coaching staff have been recruiting the state of Nebraska, I certainly don’t doubt it.

It is important to note that this scholarship does not count towards the 2020 group. That is certainly good news, as Nebraska Football has been recruiting hard for the next class. There are many areas of need to fill. So far, it looks like those areas are being addressed.

Next. Three key questions for Wisconsin game. dark

As for now, Nebraska enters a tough final stretch that will determine whether or not they make a bowl game. Hopefully, Mazour finds himself in the middle of the action. I certainly wish him nothing but the best over these next couple of weeks.
