Two teams who are hungry for wins are set to battle it out on the gridiron Saturday.

Nebraska Football and Purdue are set to face off and what should be a tough game on the road for the Cornhuskers. With both programs coming off losses last Saturday, they look to get back in the win column.

Purdue lost to a tough Illinois team last Saturday by a score of 24-6. With their record dropping to 2-6, it was hard to find positives about that game. Even still, Jackson Anthrop put together a good game on the receiving end for the Boilermakers, recording three catches for 51 yards.

In the meantime, Nebraska and its defense got exposed against Indiana. It was tough sledding from the get-go, as an injury to Noah Vedral forced Nebraska Football to have to go with true freshmen Luke McCaffrey. McCaffrey played well, but it was still not enough to defend Memorial Stadium, as Nebraska was unable to secure the victory coming off the bye week.

Nebraska has a chance to even up the all-time series between these two teams. In their last meeting in 2018, Purdue beat Nebraska by a 42-28 score. I’m not gonna say this is a revenge game, but Nebraska certainly has last year in the back of their minds.

The Lowdown

When: Saturday November 2, Noon EST

Where: Ross-Ade Stadium, West Lafayette Ind.

TV: FOX

Radio: Husker Sports Network

Live stream: fubo TV

Prediction:

I predict a Nebraska win, but my hopes rely on the defense. I have a feeling that they will play better this week than they did last week. Especially after such a poor showing, they need to play at a higher level. To this point, the offense has proved they can get it done.

Holding onto the football, not committing stupid penalties, and respecting both the run and passing game of Purdue will be paramount to this team’s success. They need to make sure that they play a full four quarters, and not just a half or a quarter. This will not be an easy game, but I truly think that Nebraska can pull out the victory.

Final Score: Nebraska 34, Purdue 31
