Win two games

This sounds extremely simplistic but all Nebraska Football has to do is win two games this month. Heading into Saturday’s action against Purdue with a 4-4 record, they are so close to a  bowl game. However, this November schedule could certainly be considered a gauntlet.

Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Iowa are all on the schedule for November. Wisconsin and Iowa are ranked. In particular, Wisconsin should present a challenge. Running back Jonathan Taylor has been tearing up college football, rushing for 1,009 yards and 15 touchdowns. Averaging 5.9 yards per carry, he has recorded 177 rushing attempts. He is a big part of the Wisconsin offense, and I don’t expect that to change when Nebraska sees them.

This is definitely a daunting part of the schedule. Nebraska will have to bear down and play hard and consistently. A bowl game would certainly be a huge step for this program, especially considering where they were a year ago. I would hate to see them fall short of one, but that’s also very possible. You can never tell which Nebraska team you are going to get, and that is a bit concerning. Nevertheless, a bowl would certainly go a long way into proving the doubters wrong.
