The Nebraska Football star is in trouble.

Marquel Dismuke is in a bit of hot water. According to a report from the Lincoln Journal Star, a bench warrant is set to issue for Dismuke after he did not show for his sentencing in regards to driving with a suspended license.

On July 12, Lincoln Police pulled over Dismuke. He had no front license plate on his car, and was cited for driving a suspended license. This is not his first time doing this. He was also fined for the same reason on May 27. He plead guilty, and was supposed to appear on Wednesday. Dismuke does have the opportunity to post bond.

I wonder what this will mean for his future on the team. Obviously, Nebraska has unfortunately had a bit of experience with player incidents off the field. Hopefully, this will be able to be sorted out and he can return to play. Being a senior next year, he would undoubtedly be a crucial part of the defense. He has played really well this season.

In eight games, he has recorded 51 tackles. The safety has proven to be a ball-hawk and that is something that has certainly brought an edge to the Nebraska secondary. He has really shown a nose for the football, and has played well on the field. Hopefully, he can get everything sorted out and come back next season. However, it remains to be seen what Nebraska will do.

As the team gears up for a big contest against Purdue, this is a distraction they certainly didn’t need. It seems like distractions have been popping up all over the place. So far, head coach Scott Frost has done a nice job of putting out the proverbial fires. The team will certainly have to make a difficult decision here. However, I trust them to make the right one.
