The Nebraska Football secondary will certainly have their work cut out for them.

As Nebraska Football gets set to take on Indiana, there are a lot of intriguing positional matchups in this game. One of them happens to be the Nebraska secondary going up against Indiana’s wide receivers. Although Indiana does not have a dominant passing game, they can get the ball down the field. That is something that Nebraska Football will have to be mindful of as they take on the upstart Hoosiers on Saturday.

As noted by Brian Christopherson of 247Sports, Indiana records 307 passing yards per game. Perhaps more of note to Nebraska, they have multiple receivers who can get the job done. Whop Philyor is the leading receiver for the team. He has caught 43 passes for 559 yards. However, there are six players who have caught at least 18 passes and five receivers who have at least 247 yards. It is going to be difficult for Nebraska to lock in on one specific receiver. They can all contribute in some way.

More from Husker Corner

However, one thing is for certain. The Nebraska secondary will have their work cut out for them. I expect a big game from Lamar Jackson in this one. He has been the most dependable corner on the backend, and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. In talking about how Indiana can beat you in multiple ways passing the football, is also important to note that Indiana can beat teams inTests multiple ways in general. They do not really have a set way of beating any team. They are extremely balanced.

In any event, the secondary will need to be ready. They cannot afford to give up the big play this week, and give Indiana any momentum. If they do, it could be another long game for Nebraska. I don’t know about you, but I am tired of seeing long games when it comes to this team. It will be a challenge, but this Indiana team is beatable. They should be able to at least compete with this Indiana team. They certainly have the talent to do so.

In any event, it should be a fun game. There are many talented players on both sides of the football for both teams. Indiana is where they are for a reason. Although they may not be traditionally thought of as a football powerhouse, there is no denying that they have put that assumption to bed. They are for real, and they will be ready to play. This will be a true test for the Huskers.
