This is a big game for Nebraska Football.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Northwestern Wildcats face off for some conference action. For both teams, they look to bounce back after losses last week.

For Northwestern, their offensive attack starts with quarterback Hunter Johnson. Johnson has thrown for 367 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions on the year. They are a little bit stronger in the running game, where Drake Anderson has rushed for 305 yards and three touchdowns on 61 attempts. This Northwestern team isn’t going to wow you with this offense, but they are tough and they are gritty. They are certainly prepared to wear Nebraska down.

In the meantime, Nebraska Football looks to shake off the disappointment from last week’s loss against Ohio State. Quarterback Adrian Martinez needs to have a better game, plain and simple. He looked rattled last week and Saturday would be a good starting point for him to bounce back. For me, the rushing attack needs to be the focal point. Dedrick Mills rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts last week against Ohio State. All things considered, those aren’t bad numbers. However, they could definitely be better.

It was be great to see J.D. Spielman have a big game too. With 391 receiving yards on the year, he is undoubtedly Nebraska Football’s top weapon. The overall point here is that Nebraska needs to focus on including all of their playmakers within the offense. If the offensive line can protect Martinez well, that should not be a problem. However, they have struggled over the past couple of games.

Here’s everything you need to know for Saturday afternoon.

Prediction

I could see Nebraska’s offense really exploding in this game. It’s been almost two weeks since they’ve had a game of that nature, and I definitely feel as though they want to get some anger out from their performance against Ohio State. This would be a great win to set the tone for the rest of the month.
