Justin Fields

Justin Fields has been an absolute spark plug for the Ohio State offense. After transferring from Georgia, it was uncertain as to how Fields would do in Big Ten play. One of the biggest knocks on him was that he didn’t have enough experience as a quarterback at the collegiate level. So far, he has debunked that theory in a big way.

On the season, Fields has 13 touchdowns and no interceptions. Throwing for 880 yards so far, he has averaged an astounding 9.3 yards per pass. His best performance of the season so far has come in the opener against Florida Atlantic. He went 18-of-25 through the air, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Completing 72% of his passes, he was a true marksman the whole day.

Last Saturday against Miami of Ohio, he had a similarly great game. He went 14-of-21, throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns. A 53-yard pass was his longest of the afternoon. In addition, he averaged 10.6 yards per pass and a 66.7 completion percentage. His 218.7 quarterback rating was his best mark of the season.

The Nebraska Football secondary should definitely be challenged in this game. As for the defensive line, they need to make sure they can get pressure to Fields right away. They can’t let him sit in the pocket and decide where to throw. If that happens, he will pick you apart. He is definitely the top player that Nebraska Football should watch out for in this game. He is what makes the offense run. If Fields has the opportunity to utilize all of his weapons, it could be a long day for Nebraska.
