Nebraska Football: Wan’Dale Robinson gets recognized by Big Ten
The Nebraska Football freshman received accolades for his performance on Saturday.
A Nebraska Football player received some accolades on Monday. Running back Wan’Dale Robinson was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Robinson hauled in eight receptions for 79 yards, and he also proved to be a beast at rushing the football. He recorded 89 yards in total. Not only that, his three touchdowns on the evening sparked the Nebraska offense in what was a slugfest type of football game.

I was really impressed with the way he performed on Saturday. He showed that he has the explosiveness and elusiveness to be a game-changer. Especially in the Big Ten conference, having a player like that is huge. I’ll be interested to see what he does for a follow-up act against an Ohio State team that is ready to play. It’s going to be fun seeing him go up against the stout Ohio State defensive line. The entire offense should come ready to play.
There is no doubt he is a game-changing football player. Too often, I see players who rarely live up to the hype they receive out of high school. Robinson is an exception to this. As many of you probably remember, we were hyping up this kid back in December. It seemed like his legend continue to grow throughout the course of the offseason. Now we are seeing exactly why.
I’m always mesmerized every time he gets the football in his hands. He uses his elusiveness and speed to completely fake defenders. It’s always interesting to see what he will do next. You never know what is going to happen. This Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor is not going to be his first award he receives in his career. Something tells me that he will receive many more down the road.
Congratulations Wan’Dale! Saturday’s game against Illinois was the start of something special. Hopefully, he can continue his upward trend.
