This is a great decision on the part of Nebraska Football.

JoJo Domann is a Blackshirt and that is great news. The junior linebacker has put together a solid season so far. In addition, he has been a staple of the defense, and has made the most of his opportunities. This honor is certainly well-deserved.

So far this season, he has 17 total tackles and two pass deflections. Considering the fact that he had 19 tackles all of last season, he should be in line for an even better year. In Saturday’s game against Illinois, he recorded five tackles, a sack, and forced fumble.

He started off the season strong against South Alabama, and it seems like the momentum has continued from there. In the opener, he was flying all over the place. He was making great reads and it seemed like he was in the middle of every single play. Ever since the opener, it seems like he has really gotten into a groove defensively.

This is great news for the rest of the defense because he is a versatile player who can make plays from any angle. If you need him to rush the passer, he can do that. If you need him to stop a running back, he can do that too. If you want him to cover a running back, he has also proven he can do that. The possibilities are endless with Domann. He has undoubtedly been a spark plug for this Nebraska Football defense, and now he is getting rewarded for his efforts.

This Saturday is going to be a tough game for the defense. I can’t imagine getting your first start of the season against Ohio State. Undoubtedly, there are going to run the ball a lot. Domann will definitely have the opportunity to record tackles and make plays. It’s what he has been doing all season, and I don’t expect that to change.

I am extremely happy for him, and all his hard work has paid off. He is undoubtedly a big part of the defense, and now he gets to show the coaching staff what he can do when given additional snaps. Something tells me he will become a tremendous leader on the defensive side of football. With so much upperclassmen talent already on the roster, he just adds another layer to that as well. This was a great move on the part of the coaching staff, and their decision should be able to pay off.
