Nebraska Football gave the senior a special gift on Monday.

This undoubtedly goes under the category of great news. After a huge game on Saturday in the Nebraska Football win over Northern Illinois, a player who played a big role in that game is now going to stay with the team on a scholarship in his final season. Jeremiah Stovall is being rewarded for his tremendous performance.

Saturday, he played a crucial role in victory. He blocked one punt and then forced a fumble on another punt opportunity.

More from Husker Corner

In total, he recorded three tackles on Saturday. It may not have been a big impact statistically, but it was certainly felt throughout the course of the game.

Stovall has had an up-and-down career at Nebraska. He was a big part of the team in 2017 while Mike Riley was still at the helm. Under Scott Frost things have been a little bit different. He didn’t even make the initial 110-man roster. There is little doubt that he has had to work his way up the proverbial food chain. It seems like hard work is something that he has been a part of his entire life.

He is truly a do-it-all player for the program, and those types of players are invaluable. Special teams has been his calling however, and it seems like he has done his job to this point. It will be interesting to see what type of impact he makes over the course of conference play. He is truly a Swiss Army knife type of player. He serves multiple roles, and excels at them. Nebraska Football will undoubtedly need all hands on deck over the course of the next couple of weeks. This is truly a make-or-break opportunity for all involved.

I can’t wait to watch Stovall continue to help out this program. He certainly deserves to have a shot at making an impact on the roster. So far, he definitely has.
