Nebraska Football sounds like they want to get Robinson more involved in the rushing attack.

There is no doubt that Wan’Dale Robinson can provide a spark for Nebraska Football when it comes to their passing game. He has the speed and explosiveness to be successful. We have seen flashes of it over the past couple of games.

In particular, his efforts during the game against South Alabama were very noticeable. He didn’t look like a freshman out there at all. He looked like a seasoned veteran. He certainly has room to grow, and I truly believe that he will be a valuable part of the offense in no time. The only complaints I have had for Nebraska Football in regards their use of Robinson is that they haven’t gotten him consistent snaps throughout the course of the game.

I’ll use the South Alabama game as an example. They didn’t really use him until the second half. Granted, he did come up clutch in big moments during that second half. His efforts in both the running and receiving game allowed Nebraska to pull away. It sounds like Nebraska Football may use Robinson in a new way. They have been thinking of putting him at running back.

This is not entirely surprising since he played the position in high school. With how stagnant the running game has been to this point, I certainly don’t mind them at least trying to add a spark there. As offensive coordinator Troy Walters told the media on Wednesday, the program thinks that Robinson could be an asset there. I don’t disagree. If Robinson has what it takes to get the offense going, then I am all for him playing at the position. In this particular quote, he was talking about wide receiver Miles Jones being more of a factor offensively

"“He’s one of those guys that has had a good week of practice and has done some good things throughout fall camp and can provide some more depth, especially with Wan’Dale maybe playing some more running back,” Walters said."

I wouldn’t mind seeing Robinson at running back at all. He certainly has the talent to succeed there. If playing him a running back means getting him more touches throughout the course of the game, than I am all for it. I would love to see him become a mainstay in the offense. I’m still keeping my expectations relatively low, considering he is a freshman.

I like the fact that Nebraska Football is trying to shake up the offense. Hopefully, they will be able to find their spark on Saturday against Northern Illinois. If they can find a formula that works consistently, that would be great. Especially with the conference schedule coming up, they need to figure out something before it’s too late.
