Nebraska Football is still ranked in the Top 25.
Nebraska Football is in an interesting situation in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Rankings. After their win over South Alabama, Nebraska moved down a spot in the rankings.
Nebraska Football is now tied with Boise State for the 25th overall spot. With 98 votes for both schools, this puts the two programs in a tie. I have honestly never seen something like this before, but it is intriguing to say the least.

I get that Nebraska Football did not perform up to the expectations of many against South Alabama. They did not perform like a ranked team. Even still, I figured that they would be moved up a spot to 23 just based on their win alone. However, strength of schedule undoubtedly plays a role in these rankings, and Stanford, the 23rd-ranked team dispatched Northwestern by a 17-7 margin. Considering that Northwestern was near the top of the Big Ten last season, I could see where their victory holds a bit more weight.
Nebraska will undoubtedly have a chance to prove to the voters that they belong in a higher slot. Playing Colorado this week, it is not going to be an easy contest. They are going to have to have everyone ready to perform at a high level. From listening to all the press conferences, it seems like Saturday’s performance did not sit well with many. The Huskers know that they have to be better, and I am extremely confident that they will be better. Nevertheless, a win is a win and Nebraska Football certainly should be happy that they have started the season on the right foot. Now, they just need to continue playing at a high level.
This game against Colorado will tell a lot about this team moving forward. A win out West would really solidify Nebraska’s Top 25 ranking. Not only that, it would be a huge win for a program that is looking to gain national respect.
