The Nebraska Football defense has rallied around their teammates.

It seems like many fans have differing views of the offense following the team’s win over South Alabama. Did Nebraska football get the win? Yes, they did. Was it pretty from an offensive standpoint? No, it wasn’t. Even still, there were certainly some good things to take away from the game offensively.

It was frustrating to watch because we know that the offense can perform much better than they did on Saturday. At times they showed flashes of being great, but those flashes were few and far between. Now, heading into a big contest against Colorado, they need to be much better. I have no doubt that they will be much better. They have many playmakers on that side of the football, and that should allow them to be able to execute at a high level.

More from Husker Corner

The defense knows that the offense will be able to bounce back as well. The strong performance from the Blackshirts was a big reason why this team won on Saturday. The secondary did their part and helped to lead the Cornhuskers to a win. It was great to see. I’m sure they will be some instances where the defense struggles and  the offense manages to pick them up. What is perhaps the most refreshing thing out of all of this is that the upperclassman leaders offered encouragement to the offense. Take for example senior Darrion Daniels.

It’s good to know that both units get along so well. That just speaks to the unity they have is a team. Team unity is something that will help Nebraska Football through the tough times. There are sure to be more bumps in the road, and that is what will make the successes even sweeter. For their part, the defense did a great job on Saturday. They also did a great job in trying to rally the offense

"“I’m not stressed about it,” the nose tackle added. “We have young guys, and they were on the sideline like, ‘We got it offense, we got it offense.’ And if something bad happened, they’re like, ‘What happened?’ I’m like, ‘Bro, they got it. I know what they can do.’ So I’m not worried about it at all. Even coming into this upcoming week, I know what our offense is capable of. I’ve seen them do better. I know they can do better.”"

I love the calm demeanor of Daniels. He, just like the rest of the Nebraska Football fans knows what this offense can do. Heading into this upcoming game against Colorado, the offense will need to be much better. Having encouragement from the defense is certainly a sign that this team is headed in the right direction.
