Hopefully, they will live up to the hype for Nebraska Football this season.

It is preseason awards time and Nebraska Football was the recipient of a group of awards earlier this week. Six Nebraska Football players were named to the 2020 Reese’s  Senior Bowl Watch List.

The Senior Bowl, traditionally held in mobile, Alabama is a game that showcases the best senior college football players in the country. Luckily for Nebraska, their senior class has tremendous potential.  Mohamed Barry, Darion Daniels, Khalil Davis, Carlos Davis, Lamar Jackson, and Jaron Woodyard were all named to the watch list. Making the list in itself is truly an impressive feat

More from Husker Corner

Out of that group, I could see Barry and Jackson making the Senior Bowl. I would consider them locks. Barry is coming off a tremendous 2018 season, and looks to be the leader of a defense that has tremendous talent and potential. Jackson was a key figure in the secondary before he had off-the-field issues last season. Now, he is refreshed and ready to go. He aims to be the lockdown corner

The Davis brothers will undoubtedly be a huge part of the Nebraska Football defense. They should be the nucleus of what should be a very talented defensive line. Jaron Woodyard should hold tremendous importance for the team as well. On a team that has a ton of talent at receiver, but not necessarily the experience, he could be someone that steps up and takes on a much bigger role.

It should be exciting to see what each of these guys can do. Although I highlighted certain players, they all have a very good shot at making the Senior Bowl. Of course, I’m sure they would rather excel in conference play and go to a major bowl game then accept individual accolades. Even still, going to a game like the Senior bowl is exciting. If anything, it’s a showcase for teams in the National Football League to find out exactly what each of these players brings to the table. It’s a fun game to watch as well, and it gives me my college football fix once the season concludes.
