The Nebraska Football wide receiver is working hard to get noticed.

Nebraska Football redshirt freshman Miles Jones knows he has an uphill battle to climb at wide receiver. With so much depth on the roster, he will certainly have to work hard to get playing time. With the starters sore by this point in camp, this gives some of the other guys the opportunity to show what they are made of.

On Friday, Nebraska football was without several of their top receivers. Jones stepped in and filled in their roles nicely. There is no doubt Jones has talent. He just needs to be able to get the opportunity and play at a consistent level. With him being at the wide receiver spot, he may not get to play consistently unfortunately. Nevertheless, he has to make the most of the opportunities he is presented with.

Jones is certainly has done that to this point in the offseason. During the spring game, he caught three passes for 44 yards. He was able to showcase his explosiveness and certainly put his name in the mind of NebraVska Football fans everywhere.

Last season was a bit of a roller coaster for him. He caught one pass for 24 yards, and underwent shoulder surgery in early November. Even as the odds seem stacked against him, Jones has evidently worked hard at excelling in his role. With Jones originally being a running back, there is too much depth there for him to make an opportunity. Now, his move to receiver could help him be a productive member of the roster.

Friday, head coach Scott Frost commented on the job that Jones did during practice. By all accounts, it sound like Jones really impressed the headman. It sounds as if Jones has made the right progressions from last year to this year. This is something that seems to be a theme among the Nebraska Football roster. Personally, I love to see it.

"“Miles had a good day today and he got some of those opportunities that somebody else might have gotten today,” Frost said. “He made some good plays out there. He’s kind of a reflection of the team. Almost across the board, the guys we have are considerably better than they were a year ago. He’s definitely doing some more dynamic things than I saw last camp.”"

All Jones has to do is keep plugging away. It seems like he is going in the right direction when it comes to trying to do as much as he can to get noticed on the roster. I commend him for sticking with it, and working hard. Hopefully, we will all see him on the field sooner rather than later.
