This is a great development for the Nebraska Football program.

For those wondering about the status of Nebraska Football commitment Jahkeem Green, I come to you with an update. According to a report from Mike Schaefer of 247Sports, Green’s paperwork has been completed and there is the possibility that he could be enrolling with the program as soon as this weekend.

Green is immediately eligible, and he has two seasons of eligibility for Nebraska Football. The multiple seasons of eligibility makes this commitment even more valuable. At the very least, he can learn the defensive playbook and come back next fall with an idea of what the expectations are. In terms of his development as a player, that could be a very positive thing for him.

This is great news for the Huskers. After what was an absolutely wild commitment process that saw him decide on the final day of July, Green now brings his talents to Nebraska. He should be an asset to the team and make an impact as soon as he steps on the field. Scott Frost and his staff have done a nice job of searching the junior-college and community college circuits for talent. They have not been afraid to go that route, and so far it has paid dividends.

The fact that he could be enrolling this weekend is huge too. With Nebraska Football only a week into their practices,  Green will still have time to catch up on everything he missed. My guess is that he will spend the 2019 season watching on the sidelines just because there is so much talent on the defensive line. However, I could be wrong, and it’s places like training camp that decide these things. At the very least, he is in the fold and ready to learn.

He strikes me as a player that defensive line coach Tony Tuioti is going to have fun coaching. He certainly fits that aggressive play style that the coach preaches to his defense. The coach has the ability to maximize the player’s talents. This could be a tremendous pairing for all involved.
