Nebraska Football continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail.

After a ton of speculation in regards to where he would play, defensive lineman Jahkeem Green is off to Lincoln.

The four-star defensive tackle is ranked 18th nationally, is the second overall defensive tackle in the class, and is the seventh overall player in the 2019 junior-college class from the state of South Carolina per the 247Sports Junior College Rankings. Green played at Highland Community College last season.

In addition to Nebraska, he also received offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and FIU. Most recently in his recruitment, he decommitted from South Carolina on April 15, and named Nebraska Football his leaders that same day.

This is a great get for Nebraska Football as he brings explosiveness and speed to the defensive line. As soon as the ball is snapped, he immediately goes to work on the offensive lineman. He does a nice job of ripping and swimming to try and create space. Green also is able to use his spin move to create instant pressure in the offensive backfield. He should be able to help Nebraska contain some of the  quarterbacks they have to face in the coming years. That in itself is very important as the more time in the pocket you give these quarterbacks, the more time they will  have to do damage to a defense.

Green is a player that could definitely play right away for Nebraska Football. He has a very polished game and has the type of skill set that could translate very well to the National Football League. Right now, the defensive line is pretty stacked with the Daniels brothers serving as what should be a formidable duo. Nevertheless, Green would definitely be able to get some playing time once they leave the program. He would give Nebraska football an instant pass rushing threat.

A pure pass rusher is something that the program has been missing the last couple of years. That is okay however as the defensive lineman that have been able to get pressure on the quarterback have also managed to serve the team well in other ways. Ben Stille is a great example of that. Green is someone that should be able to fit into the defensive system very well, especially with the aggression they are slated to play with this year. That should definitely allow him to highlight the strongest aspects of his game, one of which includes bullrushing the offensive line.

This is another great pickup for Scott Frost and his staff. Hopefully, Green will settle into the Nebraska Football program nicely. He certainly has the talent to be able to make an impact. I can’t wait to see what he is able to bring to Nebraska.
