Gunnerson should be able to represent Nebraska Football well.

Yet another member of the Nebraska Football program is headed to the A-American bowl. This time, it is defensive end Blaise Gunnerson. On Tuesday, he accepted an invite to the event, which is held in January. It’s a pretty big deal, as it is televised by NBC and is a showcase for some of the best prospects in college football.

Gunnerson will join teammate Turner Corcoran at the event, making it two known representatives for Nebraska Football that will be there. Last year, the Cornhuskers will well-represented. They had three players participate in the game. Wandale Robinson, Noa Pola-Gates, and Bryce Benhart were all involved in the game. Those three should be crucial to the future of Nebraska. I would say that both Gunnerson and Corcoran will be pretty important pieces as well.

This is great news, as it will give fans a chance to see the future of Nebraska Football. It’s great to see that Nebraska has had five representatives in this game in the past two years. Watching it last January, it was quality football. It wasn’t like a glorified All-Star game. These kids played hard, and made each snap count. The All-American bowl was really the first venue that I got to see what Robinson was capable of. Let me just say, he impressed me very much.

Gunnerson will be going up against the best of the best at this game, and will be interesting to see what he does against top-tier competition. The Big Ten has top-tier competition as well, and this will be a nice warm-up game for him before he takes on the life of a college football player. Hopefully, he will be joined by a couple other Nebraska Football commitments. The 2020 class in particular has some “diamonds in the rough”, players that may not get national attention, but who have the potential to be extremely successful in the college game.

Congratulations to Gunnerson for being selected to play in this game. It is a tremendous honor, and it seems to be a haven for Nebraska Football players. For a program that is going through the rebuilding process, and seems like it is on the rise, this is certainly a great boost. The coaching staff can use this when talking to recruits. It seems like this program has nowhere to go but up, and that is quite a turnaround from where it was a couple of years ago
