Nebraska Football is continuing to recruit hard.

Just when you think Nebraska Football has enough running backs, a report comes out that they are trying to recruit more. That is certainly the case recently, as it appears that Marvin Scott III is on their radar.

Scott, a three-star recruit,  is the 51st overall running back in the 2020 class, and the 98th overall player from the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Currently, he has offers from Georgia Tech, wake forest, Alabama, Boston College, Colorado State, Connecticut, and Duke among others. Most recently, he visited Florida State on June 7.

What could he bring to the Nebraska Football program? Production is the first thing that comes to mind. In his junior season last fall, he rushed for 1,220 yards and 17 touchdowns in eight games for Spruce Creek High School. He is a shifty runner who does a great job of bouncing outside and following his blocks. He is not the fastest, and he could certainly be considered more of a power runner.

I find the fact that Nebraska is recruiting him is a bit intriguing. They already have a ton of depth at the running back position, and they certainly do not need more at the moment. However, it never hurts to add more, and his running style would certainly be a little bit different than what the other running backs on the Nebraska Football roster bring to the table.

Currently, the oldest running back on the roster is Dedrick Mills. As a junior, he will lead a group of young running backs. Currently, the 2020 Nebraska Football recruiting class ranks No. 55 nationally and 11th overall in the Big Ten per the 247 sports team rankings. Nevertheless, this is a class with a ton of talent.

As Mike Schaefer of 247Sports notes, Scott is supposed to decide where he is going this week. Nebraska has as good a chance as anybody of landing him.

"There were rumblings in the network that Marvin Scott III was considering making a decision, but the week came and went and he has yet to announce. The Huskers appear to be in great shape along with Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech for the talented and well built three-star running back."

Scott is certainly tremendously talented.  He would be another great get for Scott Frost and the coaching staff. We’ll have to see how his commitment plays out.
