Wilson should be a key member of Nebraska Football offensive line next year.

Each season,  there are always moments for players to build off of. For a certain member of the Nebraska Football team, that is certainly the case. Offensive lineman Boe Wilson had a tremendous year last year, and he looks to build off it in 2019.

More from Husker Corner

Wilson played well last season. As a sophomore, he really came into his own and became a key part of the line. This was encouraging to see, especially with him being only in his second year. He, along with the rest the line, has the tough task of protecting quarterback Adrian Martinez. As defensive lineman get bigger and faster, that is becoming an even tougher task year after year.

Always a steady presence he really flourished and came into his own in 2018. He was recognized for his play, and he should be able to provide more of the same stability in 2019. Now a veteran, Wilson should definitely be a player worth watching. Instead of honorable mention All-Big Ten honors, he now should be able to gain All-Big Ten status. Brian Christopherson of 247Sports certainly has high expectations for him, and I can see why.

"One of three returning offensive lineman starters, the junior did enough last year to earn honorable mention All-Big Ten status. Wilson will have to be a veteran leader on the interior of that O-line given Nebraska’s unknowns at the center and other guard spot. And while everyone worries about the depth at tackle, Wilson is not a guy NU can afford to be without."

A three-star designation. He was the eighth overall player in the state of Missouri per the 247Sports Composite rankings. A member of the class of 2016, he committed to Nebraska on July 16, 2015. It is safe to say he has made quite a name for himself in Lincoln, and now expectations will be a lot higher for him than they were coming into last year.

Wilson is going to be key for the offensive line in the fall. Unlike last year, Nebraska Football is going to have to rely on their lineman more than ever. They have players who, if they can get good blocking, will be able to flourish. Whether it be the speedy running backs, or the talented quarterback group, Nebraska will need the offensive line. Wilson should be able to be a big part of that, and I expect big things from him moving forward.
