The Nebraska Football freshman needs to make better choices.

Another Nebraska Football player has been caught making a bad decision. According to multiple media reports Wandale Robinson was cited for marijuana possession.

The police were called to Robinson’s room late Sunday night as a community service officer smelled marijuana. A search of Robinson’s car led to a citation at 11:28 PM. Robinson reportedly had less than an ounce in the vehicle.

According to a report from the Lincoln Journal Star, Robinson is scheduled to appear in court on July 9, but he does not face the possibility of jail time.

This is disappointing to hear. He has not even suited up for Nebraska Football and he finds himself in trouble already. Granted, this is a minor offense compared to some of the other things that could have occurred. Truthfully, as long as he behaves himself the rest of the way, this should not be too big a blemish for him. He just needs to be smarter and know his surroundings a little bit better. Especially as a freshman, that is not always an easy thing to do.

Robinson figures to be a big part of the Nebraska Football offense. He has the speed and athletic skill to play both of the running back and wide receiver positions. He has been rumored to be a big part of the offense moving forward, and I will be interested to see what type of things he brings to the offense. I believe he can put up big numbers moving forward.

This was not a smart thing for him to do, but as long as he keeps his head down and stays out of trouble the rest of the way, this should not be a big deal. Nebraska football needs him on the field and with the team. Especially with all the events surrounding Maurice Washington, Robinson could be in line to see a fair amount of playing time. Especially as a freshman, he needs to take advantage of all the opportunities he can get.

It will be interesting to see if the team does anything about this and disciplines him on their own accord. Personally, I hope that they do not but I certainly understand why they would feel it necessary. Hopefully, Robinson learns from this and is able to make better choices from here on out. From what I can tell, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him.
