Nebraska Baseball should be fine moving forward.

Nebraska Baseball is going to have a long haul as they look to find a new coach following the resignation of Darren Erstad. Often times, whenever a program is to find a new coach, these things can be stressful. More so, whatever previous plan the head coach had in place for the following season, all of that progress is now gone.

However, it seems the Nebraska Baseball coaches are holding down the fort as the search for a new coach begins. When a new coach comes to town, recruits often have second thoughts about joining a program. Nebraska baseball is probably no different in this matter, but the assistant coaches have a plan to try to keep as many  as possible.

Ted Silva, the associate head baseball coach and recruiting coordinator, said that the recruiting pitch will try to remain the same. Moreover, they will try to keep their promises to all players.

"“The message: Yes, Coach Erstad is a missing piece, and yes, he was a big key to your decision, but at the same time, big picture, all their guarantees are still in place, they’re plans are still in place,” Silva said. “Just make sure everybody understands the message of whatever happens moving forward, there is going to be somebody in place that will do the job at a high level.”"

It is good for the Nebraska Baseball program that they seem to have a plan in place. It doesn’t sound like they are panicking either. Having an even keel staff that will implement the same goals of winning and success is crucial. Nebraska Baseball is coming off a tremendous season. There is no doubt they want to continue that as they move forward.

My guess is that a high-quality coach will come in. Ideally, the incoming coach will have a lot of experience. He is going to be dealing with a roster that had tremendous success last year, with a spot in the Big Ten title game being one of the many highlights of last season. This is a program that is built to win now, and Nebraska Baseball has a lot of talent coming in the program. The incoming Nebraska Baseball class has 10 signees who are ready to help, and a solid freshman class from last year should add depth as well.

Next. Three dangerous running backs on schedule. dark

Do not worry Nebraska Baseball fans, the future looks bright. All the program needs is a new voice at the head of the bench. I know that sounds a little simplistic, but this program will not vanish into the abyss.
