Nebraska Basketball: Two 2020 commitments are generating buzz
Nebraska Basketball is lucky to have these two in Lincoln.
Nebraska Basketball is getting a lot of hype, and for good reason. They have many talented players coming to Lincoln very soon. 247Sports has some of them rated very highly. Donovan Williams and DeAndre Davis have found themselves in the upper echelon of the rankings.
Davis is the number 153 overall player in the 247 Rankings. Williams is the number 166 overall player in the rankings. Williams was sent to play on the EYBL circuit this summer for the Bradley Beal Elite team, but he tore his ACL. Right now, it is just rehab for him and preparation for his senior season. It is smart for him to go this route as he does not want to jeopardize his future. Hopefully, he will be healed and ready to go by the time he arrives in Lincoln.

In the meantime, Davis did very well on the EYBL circuit. He performed well averaging 19.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest. He has played well as he prepares for his senior year, and is said to have a very aggressive play style. He seems like a very good all-around player, and that is exactly what Nebraska Basketball will need moving forward.
As a Nebraska Basketball fan, you have to be excited by these developments. These are two players that can be explosive offensively and also appear to be solid on the defensive end. They are certainly good players to build a recruiting class around.
I will be interested to see if the stock of these two continue to rise. Anything more than what is already occurring should be considered positive. Hopefully in their senior season, they will continue to round out their games and focus on becoming complete players. I think we have already begun to see these two flourish, and I’m hoping they can do so in Lincoln. They are set to be a big part of what is a tremendous roster rebuild on the part of coach Fred Hoiberg.
Obviously, we have not seen the results on the court yet, but Hoiberg appears to be bringing this Nebraska Basketball program in the right direction. He is building excitement for the program, and especially in a rebuilding year, that is huge. It should be a fun time at the Vault next season. I truly believe that this team can contend with the best in the Big Ten conference, and although that may seem like an outlandish statement, this team certainly has the pieces to be successful.
