Robinson looks to be a huge playmaker for Nebraska Football.
It’s no secret that Nebraska Football lucked out with the commitment of Wan’Dale Robinson. Robinson is a tremendous playmaker whose speed he can really change the course of a game. Now, after excelling at the high school level, he will look to bring that talent to Lincoln as another playmaker in the Nebraska offense.
There has been talk of him playing at the running back position. There has also been discussions of him playing receiver. Could he possibly play both? It’s not out of the realm of possibility, as once again, that speed allows him to be explosive wherever he plays. He may have to play both roles.

In a report written by Brian Christopherson of 247Sports, coach Troy Walters was envisioning Robinson as a player who could be a multifaceted individual. Truthfully, I like the sound of it. This gives defenses an extra element to plan for when they play Nebraska. The only constant it appears with Robinson is that he will be in games and playing, which is big for a freshman.
It sounds like where he will line up will depend on the situation. I like that element of surprise, and it’s just another element to an offense that looks to have both speed and skill. This isn’t going to be a vanilla offense. This is going to be one that constantly keeps defenses on their toes. At least that’s what the coaches are making it sound like.
"Asked specifically about Robinson this spring, Walters said of the newcomer, “We’re hoping he’s going to have a big role. That position he plays is big in this offense. The Duck position, where you play both receiver and running back, the more you can do, man, the more valuable he’s going to be. We can create mismatches with him in the pass game and the run game. As much as he can handle, we’ll put on him.”"
It sounds like Robinson is going to be a Nebraska Football version of a Swiss Army knife. His skillset allows him to fit in that role perfectly. He is undoubtedly going to have some freshman mistakes as he adjusts to the speed of the college game and the fast-moving offense that Nebraska Football is sure to employ. Nevertheless, I expect him to yield positive results. He is one of the many players of the 2019 recruiting class that I see catching on quickly and being successful.
I am excited to see how Nebraska Football uses Robinson in this offense. The fact that they are not pigeonholing him to one position is encouraging. Let him showcase his talents in as many ways as possible. That could benefit both the player and the program down the road.
